MyCookbook - Recipe Box
1. Agreement to Terms
By downloading, installing, or using MyCookbook - Recipe Box ("the App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use ("Terms"). These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and ALSTIG INC ("we," "our," or "us"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the App.
2. Description of Service
MyCookbook - Recipe Box is a personal recipe management application that allows you to store, organize, and manage your recipes. The App is designed for personal, non-commercial use.
3. AI-Generated Content Disclaimer
The App uses artificial intelligence (OpenAI) for recipe scanning (OCR) to extract recipe text from images. You acknowledge and agree that:
- AI-extracted recipe data may contain inaccuracies or errors in ingredient names, quantities, measurements, or instructions
- You are solely responsible for reviewing, verifying, and approving all AI-extracted content before use
- ALSTIG INC is not responsible for any consequences arising from your use of AI-processed content, including but not limited to food safety issues, incorrect measurements, or recipe errors
- You should always verify cooking temperatures and food safety information independently
4. Subscriptions and Payments
The App offers the following auto-renewable subscription plans:
- MyCookbook Pro Monthly — $5.99 per month
- MyCookbook Pro Annual — $49.99 per year
Billing
Payment will be charged to your Apple ID account at confirmation of purchase. Subscriptions automatically renew unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your account will be charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period at the rate of your selected plan.
Managing Subscriptions
You can manage your subscription and turn off auto-renewal at any time by going to your Account Settings in the App Store after purchase. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.
Free Trial
If a free trial is offered, any unused portion of the free trial period will be forfeited when you purchase a subscription.
Refunds
All purchases are final. Refund requests must be submitted directly to Apple in accordance with Apple's refund policy.
5. User Content
You retain ownership of all recipe content, photos, and data you create or import into the App ("User Content"). By using the App, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive license to store and process your User Content solely for the purpose of providing the App's services to you. We do not sell, share, or use your recipe data for advertising purposes.
6. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Use the App for any unlawful purpose
- Attempt to reverse engineer or modify the App
- Use the App to infringe on any third-party intellectual property rights
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any portion of the App or its infrastructure
7. Intellectual Property
The App and all of its original content, features, and functionality are owned by ALSTIG INC and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works based on the App without our prior written consent.
8. Data and Privacy
Your use of the App is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference. Please review our Privacy Policy to understand our practices.
9. Disclaimer of Warranties
THE APP IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE APP WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR FREE OF VIRUSES OR OTHER HARMFUL COMPONENTS. WE MAKE NO WARRANTIES REGARDING THE ACCURACY OR RELIABILITY OF AI-EXTRACTED RECIPE DATA.
10. Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, ALSTIG INC SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING LOSS OF DATA, LOSS OF REVENUE, LOSS OF PROFITS, OR HARM ARISING FROM RELIANCE ON AI-EXTRACTED RECIPE DATA, ARISING OUT OF OR IN CONNECTION WITH YOUR USE OF THE APP.
11. Termination
We reserve the right to terminate or suspend your access to the App at our sole discretion, without notice, for conduct that we believe violates these Terms or is harmful to other users, us, third parties, or for any other reason.
12. Changes to Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of any material changes by updating the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page. Your continued use of the App after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the new Terms.
13. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, United States, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
